Hugh kindly posted a link in his comment about the Double Badger (middle fly on the top row above) and its efficacy when put to good use in New Mexico. Here's the picture of his friend's Rainbow Trout caught in the San Juan river. I wonder just how far afield some of these Derbyshire Flies can bring good results?
Lovely "buggy" flies that covers a lot of ground for a fly fisher. Thanks for sharing this with your readers!

ReplyDeleteTied some double badgers for a friend who fished the San Juan in New Mexico yesterday..... The double badger worked a treat!! Derbyshire Entomological Impressionism works everywhere where trout rise to the fly.

I took up fly fishing 2 seasons ago and have now decided to start tying my own flies . I fish the DCAC waters . Can't wait to get tying and have bookmarked your pages to use as an index . Think I may have met you once whilst fishing with my Brother Mick(trugg) at Bakewell. Thanks for the gold mine of information you have provided here , very much appreciated . Derek Martin
